To My Yuletide Writer:

I would like to thank you (again) for taking the time to squeeze out something from a tiny fandom that I adore. I know how hectic it can be to try getting anything done, especially with RL being a hassle. So, um, you already have my love for that!

A few things I should mention:

⇒ As far as likes/dislikes go in writing, I am a pretty easy-going type of reader. I'll read just about anything, though I do have a fondness for slash and any homosexual undertone. Some things I do shy from, however, would be: bad grammar, non-edited things, utter OOC-ness, weak female characters and/or characterization. It's not a very long, in-depth list, but as I said before, I'm not overly picky. I like almost anything, especially something with a bit of a twist.

⇒ And kink; kink is definitely good. Except for those that are waaaaay out there. Like everything that belongs in the toilet.

⇒ I enjoy G-rated things to R. Doesn't matter to me one bit, though I tend to gravitate towards R more.

⇒ I love AUs of any sort.

The Doctrine of Labyrinths series by Sarah Monette

I really enjoy this series a lot, which makes me kind of sad that it's such a small fandom. There is so much I'm fascinated with. The setting, the politics, the people. The relationships. I am greatly intrigued by the complexities of Felix and Mildmay and the twisted way they need each other. Even through the trials of the last book; though I seem to be alone in the thought that it shouldn't exist. As for what I'd like to see, anything to do about the two of them as brothers would be nice! Perhaps a random scene the readers aren't given that's set during the first three books (and/or half way through the fourth). Another awkward moment between them about their "feelings". Or, if you'd rather them separate:

+ A more in-depth history of Felix. When he became a whore, meeting and getting to know the man known as Malkar and what he's capable of.

+ Mildmay's own childhood! How his relationship with Keeper progressed, embracing his skills as a thief. Perhaps up to the point he was severely injured.

The inner thoughts and workings of all the characters are key for me. I don't mind a character introspection, but the connection each character has with another is what I enjoy about this series. The magic, Felix's cruelty, Mildmay's devotion. Relationships, relationships, relationships!

Lord of the White Hell by Ginn Hale

Where to begin with this one? It's yet another great read by this author, especially for her characters and the interesting complexity of the story line. Personally, I would be absolutely happy with anything at ALL. There's so little in the way of continuation, so perhaps you could weave your own? Javier and Kiram have traveled a while and they eventually make their way back to Anacleto to visit Kiram's family? Or a random adventure/lesson learned-esque type thing while they're still on the run. Do they make it/decide to go to Yuan? Do they return to Rauma to see Fedeles? What of Javier's relationship with Elezar and Kiram's with Nester--do they continue to keep in contact? If none of those catch your interest:

+ Perhaps a tale of Kiram's uncles and how they met. Or when they were exiled and had no one but each other to rely on.

+ Kiram, Javier, and the Grunito brothers team up one last time as the Hellions to save the world from certain doom. Fedeles actually plays a more important role.

+ The tragic love story/past of Yassin Lif-Harun and Calixto ♥ The trials and hardships they faced in keeping the shajdi out of the wrong hands.

Though I chose Kiram and Javier specifically, I love all the characters. I'd be happy with romance and intrigue and just general boys being boys in the same tone and setting Hale manages to provide in her work.

The Cal Leandros Series by Rob Thurman

...there is too much love for this series. It's witty and interesting, and the characters— The. Characters. This is what makes it for me. I chose Niko and Cal specifically because I can't get enough of their brotherly dynamic. Especially in Blackout when [Niko planned to sacrifice his own happiness to allow Cal the chance to be as he was when he was bitten and forgot...a lot of things]. How they need each other, Cal's sassy remarks. Their relationship with those around them and how they function from day-to-day. Any sort of bromance with them would be appreciated. Character cameos (what's TCLS without Robin, Promise, and Ish?) are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Maybe even something as ridiculous as another road trip - like the one taken in Roadkill - with lots of disasters and further brother-bonding. Some extra ideas:

+ Cal, Niko, Robin, and Ish try to have a "normal" day, but things go unexpectedly wrong. Maybe a mission from some of Promise's contacts?

+ The boys run into Rafferty again. What's happened since his losing Catcher? How is he dealing with it?

+ Niko and Cal growing up and roughing it after Cal comes back from Tumulus. What problems did they run into? Just how MESSED UP was Cal those first weeks, months, years after? What did Niko do to make sure they were taken care of?

Slash is okay as long as it's not over the top or unbelievably out of character for the two of them. But that's not necessarily what I'm looking for in this type of story. Just bros being bros and killing monsters while they're doing it.

Fate/Zero

There is nothing I don't like about this series. The animation, the story, the characters. Everything is perfect and sad and wonderful. However, I specifically chose Rider and Waver because they're my absolute favorite. (Not to mention their relationship in the anime is the cutest thing in existence.) I would absolutely LOVE anything about them.

+ Some cute moments they had together during the Grail War—much like when they were shopping; Rider exploring the world and noting all the differences he sees in comparison.

+ Maybe an AU where Waver comes under Iskandar's protection during his reign before he dies and becomes a Servant and the obstacles they must overcome.

+ Rider and Waver reuniting after Waver's grown up. This doesn't necessarily have to coincide with the other Fate series either.

Whatever inspiration you get would certainly please me!! A few things to note: slash is preferred between them as long as it's realistic. Given that Rider is ten times Waver's size, some things probably aren't possible between them. However, if you can't write slash, anything adorable and fluffy and sweet [ with the slightest touch of angst ] is always welcome :D

I think that's it! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Also, good luck with the challenge, yuletide writer! I look foward to seeing whatever it is that you produce!
